BoTTling day
checklist
Let’s be successful together. Please have these ready to roll day of bottling.
Glass
Corks or Screwcaps
Capsules
Labels on a standard 3” core, max 11” O.D. and rolled in either #4 or #8 position - the closer to 11” means less stoppage time for label changes
Wine greater than 65F (the warmer the wine is during summer, the less the bottles will sweat and potentially have labelling issues due to humidity)
Stretch wrap for finished pallets
Nitrogen, Co2 or Argon - Generally one large tank will last 1.5-2 days
4 helpers (loading glass, case packing, case labeling, palletizing and pallet wrapping)
Fork lift
Clean water hook up
2 sanitized 50 gallon tubs
Sanitized wine hoses and fittings (from tank to pump)
All wines needing sterile filtering on the way to bottle have been EK filtered within 24 hours of bottling, and SO2 corrections made.
All final filters ready. A back-up membrane final filter is always highly recommended to avoid downtime.
